The longest field goal in NFL playoff history stands at 58 yards, a feat achieved only twice. Pete Stoyanovich of the Dolphins first set the record in 1990, and Graham Gano of the Panthers tied it in 2019. So close, yet so far for Borregales.
While he didn't break the record, Borregales did contribute a 23-yard field goal in the third quarter, giving the Patriots a slender lead. With the Super Bowl on the line, the game in Denver was a nail-biter.
